About Program Initiatives

American Culture Studies has launched several new Program Initiatives: three- to five-year endeavors centered on themes that bring interested faculty members together across disciplinary boundaries. The aim of the Program Initiatives is to locate productive intersections in the research agendas of a critical mass of Americanist faculty and to facilitate collaborative work that results in knowledge production in the form, for example, of published books and articles, conferences, lasting archives, and new team-taught courses. Of course, not all Program Initiatives will necessarily result in all or most of these--some may simply yield a robust reading group, as a platform for launching some of these more ambitious projects or perhaps simply as a valuable end in itself.

For information about our Program Initiatives, please see our Program Initiative F.A.Q. (from the menu on the left). For more information about specific initiatives, please follow links on the right to each initiative's description.
