Introduction to Education: En La Lucha!--Latinx in Education
AMERICAN CULTURE STUDIES 203C
A major purpose of this course will be to study the research on Latinxs in the educational pathway from kindergarten through the professoriate. The readings will cover critical perspective of current status, experiences, challenges, and successes of Latinxs in this educational pathway. In addition, major emphasis will be placed on better understanding the ways in which familia/family, the diaspora of the Latinx comunidad/community, and community cultural wealth are influential factors to remaining "en la lucha"/"in the fight" for Latinx success in education.
