"I attended my first ASA conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico last November as an observer thanks to support from AMCS. It is a rare treat to receive conference funding without the added pressure of presenting a research paper, and I found renewed enjoyment in the experience of learning from and meeting fellow scholars as a result. The ASA conference is a truly multidisciplinary gathering, and as a poet-scholar practicing multidisciplinary research I deeply appreciated the curation of innovative research and programming focused on Puerto Rican and Caribbean concerns. I highly recommend tapping into this resource specifically available to grad students."
