STL in AMCS

“STL in AMCS” is a program initiative building pathways between the communities of St. Louis and the university that enriches what is known about the city, its history, and its cultural participants. This blended engagement prioritizes the communities of St. Louis as people and places to learn from and to partner with so that, collectively, new histories and new ways to see and understand the region emerge. This is a multiyear collaboration among students, faculty, and staff at Washington University partnering with the cultural, community, and non-profit institutions and organizations that help define what it means to be in and from this city. The initiative features phased rollout of signature goals. Beginning in AY 2023-24 and continuing into AY 2024-25, the program will extend and strengthen partnerships in the region while also providing support for developing innovative new courses centering multi- and inter-disciplinary studies of the STL region in consultation and cooperation with community partners. The phase after will focus on supporting scholarly research and publication, public and academic events, and integration within AMCS undergraduate programs.
