As a senior year experience that runs parallel to capstone project development, the program cohort participated in weekly seminars that explored interdisciplinary study, carefully considered how the university and academic scholarship participate in and shape national culture, and maintained a focus on the academic careers and research priorities of the Scholars.
Under the mentorship of the current Harvey Scholars director, Senior Lecturer Zachary Manditch-Prottas, this impressive group of scholars exemplifies AMCS's commitment to public-facing scholarship dedicated to making research accessible and engaging across a myriad of themes and approaches—ranging from a community-based conference on Blackness and public policy, to an art gallery installation on Asian American women and labor organization, and a video essay on stop-motion animation, nostalgia, and modernity.
