Dr. Ila Sheren will speak on her new book Border Ecology: Art and Environmental Crisis at the Margins during the Faculty Book Celebration on February 28th at 4pm in Umrath Lounge.
The event recognizes Washington University faculty from the humanities and humanistic social sciences by displaying their recently published works and large-scale creative projects and inviting two campus authors and a guest lecturer to speak at a public gathering. Ila Sheren is Associate Professor of Art History and Archaeology at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research focuses on questions of borders and decolonial theory, whether in the case of the U.S. frontera, environmental crisis in the Global South, or the performative nature of political protest.
